Brazen thief caught on CCTV stealing mobile phone from Glasgow shop

A bold thief has been captured on CCTV stealing from a small business in Glasgow. Mr Ali, who owns Mobile Planet, on Saracen Street in Possilpark was appalled to find out that a brand new Samsung Galaxy Note, worth £650 was nicked by a customer while he was assisting them.

The woman entered the shop around 2pm on Friday, February 3, and engaged the shopkeeper in conversation about possibly buying a phone for a "wee girl", according to GlasgowLive.

She is spotted on camera asking Mr Ali to look on a shelf behind the till which requires him to turn his back on her. While he is looking for the item, the culprit can be seen reaching over into a display cabinet and snatching the phone before quickly packing it into her bag.She casually continues to speak to Mr Ali about the possible purchase before saying she "needs to go to the post office" and leaving the shop with the stolen device.

Mr Ali reported the theft to the police but claims cops are yet to attend the shop to review the CCTV footage. He said: "This woman came to my shop and stole a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Brand New worth £650.
