Bolton Wanderers to take part in social media boycott on weekend promotion could be secured

For all the latest news from in and around Bolton, sign up for the free MyBolton newsletter Bolton Wanderers will take part in a social media boycott next weekend as it joins clubs across the English football pyramid , in response to the ongoing and sustained discriminatory abuse received online by players and many others connected to football.

Wanderers and other clubs in the Premier League, EFL and women's football will not use their platforms from 3pm on Friday, April 30, until 11.59pm on Monday, May 3.

It will coincide with Bolton's home game against Exeter City next Saturday, where Wanderers could seal automatic promotion back to League One with three points.
