Cold winter air can leave parts of your home feeling damp which can often spawn mould on walls in your home. Not only can the moisture damage the household's structure, the resulting fungus can be the root of a number of health issues like asthma.

As the temperatures drop, heating experts are urging households to keep their bathroom doors closed when showering, or risk spreading damp air throughout the home.

According to Mark Ronald, Lead Engineer at Hometree, condensation is one of the most common forms of household damp and is brought on by poor ventilation, the Express reports.

He explained: “The main type of damp that central heating helps combat is condensation, often found in rooms that don’t get used as much as others.
