Body found in Wigan canal was that of missing man
manchestereveningnews.co.ukWigan. Darren Hunt, 47, was last seen at around 10pm on Sunday evening (February 28) near the Nisa convenience store in Manchester Road, Ince Bar.On Monday, police issued a photograph of Mr Hunt as they appealed for help to find him.
Later that afternoon, officers discovered a man's body in the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
Bolton Coroner's Court confirmed that they had received a file regarding Mr Hunt's death.It is the third time in the space of just over six months that a man has been found dead in that particular stretch of water in the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.
