A blind 95-year-old woman was left lying on the ground for over 13 hours as she waited for emergency services after taking a fall.

Joan Massey was unable to move from the floor of her Birmingham home from 10am to 11.15pm, having to suck on a tissue during the ordeal as she was unable to drink normally due to the awkward position she had landed in.

A relative called an ambulance around 10am when they found Joan after she had taken a tumble, according to Hull Live. Wendy Massey, 72, who is Joan's daughter-in-law, said: "She was on the ground for more than 13 hours.

Though we have no idea actually how long she was down before that."She does wear a helpline around her neck, but being in the situation she had clearly forgotten she had it."She
