Billie Shepherd has said she thought that King Charles III would give up his throne to his eldest son William. Charles was formally announced as King on Saturday 10 September, two days after Her Majesty the Queen’s death.

Discussing Charles becoming King on their podcast, sisters Billie and Sam Faiers gushed over the late monarch. “[The Queen] was 96 and, for me, it is sad but I think it should be more of a celebration of her life,” began Sam. “She made it to 96 and she was the Queen for 70 years.” Chiming in, Billie - who is currently expecting her third child - added: “She was an amazing Queen as well.” Sam went on to say how she feels like there’s going to be “so many changes” in the wake of the Queen’s passing, sparking Billie to share her expectations of King Charles abdicating the throne. “I don’t know, I thought that Charles would have handed [the throne] to William,” she said.

Disagreeing, Sam went on: “I didn’t think he would. Charles has waited his whole life for this moment.” The two former TOWIE stars went on to say that they think William, the new Prince of Wales, will go on to make an “amazing” King one day.
