Harvey Weinstein

Harvey Weinstein CBE (born March 19, 1952) is an American former film producer. He and his brother Bob Weinstein co-founded the entertainment company Miramax, which produced several successful independent films, including Sex, Lies, and Videotape (1989), The Crying Game (1992), Pulp Fiction (1994), Heavenly Creatures (1994), Flirting with Disaster (1996), and Shakespeare in Love (1998).

Weinstein won an Academy Award for producing Shakespeare in Love, and garnered seven Tony Awards for a variety of plays and musicals, including The Producers, Billy Elliot the Musical, and August: Osage County. After leaving Miramax, Weinstein and his brother Bob founded The Weinstein Company, a mini-major film studio. He was co-chairman, alongside Bob, from 2005 to 2017.

Bert Fields, legendary lawyer to A-list clients, dies at 93

Entertainment lawyer Bert Fields, known for his work with A-list celebrity clients, passed away Sunday at the age of 93 in his California home.

Fields' law firm, Greenberg Glusker Fields Claman & Machtinger, announced the attorney's death on August 8 via a statement. "Most of his entire career was spent at Greenberg Glusker Fields Claman & Machtinger, a firm that he helped to turn into a Hollywood behemoth.

Along with the industry-shaping deals that he helped negotiate, this American legal legend tried numerous landmark cases in the entertainment, sports, and communications industries, and he has been the subject of several personal profiles in magazines and newspapers," the statement read.

Fields is said to have been suffering from "long-term neurological effects of COVID-19" prior to his passing, firm spokesman Seth Horowitz told the Associated Press.
