Rutherglen Glencairn snatched a late leveller to knock Benburb off the top of the West of Scotland League First Division on Saturday. And boss Willie Harvey says Bens were lucky to get away with a 1-1 draw, because his side could have won by two or three goals.Glens ended a run of four straight defeats when Ryan McManus smashed in a 90th-minute equaliser, after Lewis McTaggart had opened the scoring in the first half.Harvey said: “Benburb were top of the league, we took them off the top of the league, and they said after the game that was probably the best point they’ll win all season.“They’re really disappointed to lose the win in the 90th minute, but it was just through sheer workrate and us never giving up.“I think Benburb realised themselves that they escaped virtually unscathed, because we could have beat them by a couple of goals on Saturday.“Hopefully that’s us back to normal.”While Glens arrested an alarming form slump, Harvey reckons it could have been even better. He said: “Unfortunately, again, one error cost us a goal, and basically it’s the only mistake we made at the back in the whole game.“I can’t fault the guys this week.“I’ve been critical of them without being overboard, but this week I was really pleased with the effort, the way we played, and the pressure we put them under.“We created chances again, their keeper has made four, possibly five, decent saves.“We’ve also hit the woodwork three times, so it was good and more like ourselves.”Follow Lanarkshire Live Sport onTwitter via@LanLiveSport, like us onFacebookor find us onInstagramfor the latest sports news, pictures and video.
