Ice cream giant Ben & Jerry's has been forced to pull one of its popular flavours from the shelves because of 'undeclared peanuts'.

The Moo-phoria Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Ice Cream, which includes peanut butter and cookie dough pieces, was found with the wrong lid in the packaging blunder that put those with a peanut allergy at risk.

According to the Food Standards Agency, one batch is now being taken off the shelves at Sainsbury's because the lid for the Salted Caramel Brownie topped the tubs instead.

This meant it did not declare there were peanuts in the product on the lid. Customers with an allergy to peanuts were therefore put at a risk if they accidentally purchased the item.
