A Lanarkshire local is set to play the Hard Rock Cafe in Glasgow this weekend to wrap up a month of promoting women’s mental health.Following the success of her latest hit Songbird, Bellshill singer Rianne Downey will be taking to the stage on Sunday, March 26, at 7pm, at the end of an epic month celebrating grassroots female talent.The acoustic set is in collaboration with Gibson Gives, who aim to get guitars into the hands of young people who could benefit from the healing power of music making.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Rianne spoke on how much it means to her to be supporting the cause, and said: “Once I saw that they were putting on gigs for women’s mental health and women who rock, I jumped at the chance. “It’s a cause that means a lot to me and is very close to my heart. “It does mean a lot that they want me to be a part of it, and it’s really inspiring for me.“It shows me that I am heading in the right direction, and that’s a real driving factor.
