Belfast football clubs team up to support family of Corey Aughey

Cliftonville said: "Six-year-old Springfield player Corey tragically passed away during a family holiday in Majorca earlier this month and, to show support for his heartbroken family, a fundraising bucket collection will be held at both Solitude and Falls Park between 9am-12pm this Saturday, June 18. "The thoughts of everyone at the Cliftonville Academy are with Corey’s entire family circle at this very difficult time. "Corey played for Springfield Star's 2016 team with the club describing him as "such a joy to coach".

The club also shared details of the fundraising drive on Facebook, adding "Springfield Star, Cliftonville and FonaCab Development League have joined forces to raise money in memory of Springfield Star player Corey Aughey. "On Saturday 18th June we will be doing a bucket collection from 9am-12noon at both Solitude and Falls Park. "All money raised will be donated to the family. "Our thoughts are with the entire family circle at this incredibly difficult time. "Thank you all in advance for your support.
