Charles, Prince of Wales (Charles Philip Arthur George; born 14 November 1948) is the heir apparent to the British throne as the eldest son of Elizabeth II. He has been Duke of Cornwall and Duke of Rothesay since 1952, and he is the oldest and longest-serving heir apparent in British history.
He is also the longest-serving Prince of Wales, having held that title since 1958. Charles was born at Buckingham Palace as the first grandchild of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. He was educated at Cheam and Gordonstoun schools, which his father, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, had attended as a child. Charles also spent a year at the Timbertop campus of Geelong Grammar School in Victoria, Australia.
Following Prince Harry’s plea to be provided with police security for his family in the UK after being stripped of it by the monarchy, other protection issues have come to light involving Royal family members.
Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie previously had 24-hour taxpayer-funded security like senior royals including the Queen, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Harry and Meghan Markle, before they stepped down from their official roles.This is the highest level of security available, apart from that provided on the days of royal engagements.

Beatrice and Eugenie's 24-hour security was also taken away— although theirs was partially removed, not completely. According to Royal expert Richard Kay, this decision came about after a row occurred within the Royal family in 2011, over money being drained by the princesses.
