BBC bosses are set to offer axed ITV This Morning presenters Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford their own show. The Sun on Sunday can reveal the telly couple, both 60, were told they were being dropped from their weekly Friday slot a month ago.
Their This Morning duties have been given to show contributor Alison Hammond, 45, and former X Factor host Dermot O’Leary, 47.
Now BBC execs hope to snap up Eamonn and Ruth when they aren’t doing This Morning cover for hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.
A telly source said: “Eamonn and Ruth have a huge fanbase and are very experienced. "They can easily carry any number of shows, so producers at the Beeb are considering handing them a format to front.” Meanwhile Dermot has broken his.
