EastEnders star Jessie Wallace has been flooded with compliments after showing off a brand new look. Fans are used to seeing the actress on-screen in the BBC One soap playing Walford icon Kat Slater.

But Jessie looked worlds away from her leopard print-wearing alter ego as she beamed for a new selfie after taking a trip to the hairdressing salon.

The 51-year-old showcased a new shorter hairstyle after chopping off some of her jet black locks. Jessie could also be seen in the snap sporting a pair of glasses and a simple black t-shirt.

Taking to Instagram, the soap star captioned the snap: "Rocking my new T-shirt from the coolest band @nimmonimmo and my new cut by the scissorhands magician @linocarbosiero."
