The BBC gave the show's fans reason to hope today as it unveiled its Christmas line-up and revealing Gavin & Stacey would return "one day".
Last year's Christmas special was a ratings boon for the Beebs, according to its director of TV, Charlotte Moore. But she did reveal that a follow-up special in 2020 was never on the cards. "That wasn't something that was going to happen this year," Moore revealed.
But then she dropped the bombshell: "One day." Fans of the classic comedy series rushed to Twitter to gush over the happy news saying they "need this come back more than anything right now".
