BBC Breakfast's Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt have been slammed for 'making a guest uncomfortable' in an 'awkward' interview.

The presenters were joined by chef Max La Manna on today's show to talk about how to keep food costs down in the run up to Christmas and over the festive period itself.

Max gave out a number of money, food and energy saving tips, but Naga wasn't so sure about one of his suggestions. Max said people could cook pasta and save money by putting the pasta in boiling water on the hob for two minutes, then turning the gas off, putting a lid on the pan and letting it cook through in the steam and hot water for a further 10 minutes.

But Naga replied: "So I read this, I don't believe you." Max looked stunned and Naga continued: "I tell you why I don't believe you, because on the pasta packet it says 'boil for 10 minutes for al dente' so if it's not actively boiling, how can it be the same amount of time to cook?"
