BBC Breakfast host Naga Munchetty abruptly called an interview to a halt during an awkward moment on today's show. The BBC anchor, 47, ordered guest Colin to "hold on" as the journalist began to chat away on the programme's iconic red sofa.

Naga, who was fronting the programme with regular co-host Charlie Stayt, 60, led the conversation with reviewer Colin. He had been to see comedian Peter Kay's long-awaited comeback show at Manchester Arena.

As he began to recall some of the highlights of the Phoenix Nights star's live performance, the BBC Breakfast host chimed in: "Hold on a second." Naga, who wore a striking black and white check print dress and stylish pink-framed glasses, continued: "We are not going to spoil anything." read more bbc breakfastsnow way BBC Breakfast fans floored by 'disappointing' reveal about beloved Xmas songfinal say BBC Breakfast's Jon can't resist dig at I'm A Celeb - leaving Sally in stitches Colin reassured fans he was not giving any content of Peter's show away, only key themes.
