BBC Breakfast fans took to social media in droves to express their frustration after the show was interrupted for an on-air apology this morning.

During Saturday's episode (November 30), a weather glitch that had occurred weeks prior was finally addressed. The error resulted in hurricane-force winds being incorrectly forecasted on the BBC Weather app.

Meanwhile, another blunder saw a duplicate weather report aired twice over two days. In the Newswatch segment of BBC Breakfast, host Samira Ahmed shared a message from a disgruntled viewer who criticised the duplication issue and urged the BBC to "do much better than that." Adam Bullimore, the senior news editor at BBC Weather, joined Samira on the show to offer his side of the story, reports the Express.

When asked by Samira why Sunday's weather was repeated on Monday, Adam sighed deeply before explaining: "It's a short explanation, it's simply that the news channel played out a recording of Sunday's weather on Monday and it was a transmission error and we're sorry about that." Samira then asked if the broadcasts are usually live, to which Adam revealed that they are typically pre-recorded an hour before airing.
