Crew members on the doomed Batgirl movie predicted it would flop amid concerns over its script. Workers on the set said the plot was “hard to follow” and characters’ lines were “difficult to understand”.
The comments comes days after Warner Bros announced it was cancelling the release of the £76million project that was shot in Glasgow.Bosses took the decision after the film received negative test reviews.
Revealing that there were concerns on set, one source said: “It soon became known that many people thought the plot was hard to follow and the script difficult to understand.“No one thought it was going to be a huge success at the box office.”The insider said the studio’s decision to cancel Batgirl’s release on HBO Max had hit crew members hard.They said: “There’s a lot of talented people in Scotland and this was a great opportunity for them.
They were totally committed to Batgirl and gave their all each day.“They’re not to blame for the film being scrapped.” Batgirl – starring Leslie Grace and Michael Keaton – was described as an updated version of the story.
