Balamory actress Juliet Cadzow looks unrecognisable 20 years on after she first appeared in the popular kids TV programme on CBeebies. The 71-year-old played school bus driver and mechanic Edie McCredie and appeared in almost every single series - and was also known for sliding down her famous fireman’s pole in her home.Back then, the TV star's hair was dark and she wore a light blue t-shirt and black trousers as she drove the Daisy bus. These days, however, she sports a glamorous blonde look and is now best known for her role as the sophisticated, sassy and sharp-tongued Suzie Fraser in River City.Juliet started her career with Billy Connolly in 'The Great Northern Welly Boot Show' and was brought up on a farm in Edinburgh.

She has a son, Shane, and was married to actor and founder of Glasgow's famous 'A Play, A Pie & a Pint', David MacLennon, until his death in 2014.

Her other roles have also included Casualty, Coronation Street, The Bill, Taggart and Still Game. More recently, Juliet provided the voice of The Ice Governess in Doctor Who and the role of Mrs Anderson in CBeebies series 'Molly & Mack'.Two decades since Balamory hit our TV screens, there are calls to remake the very popular kids TV programme - and to celebrate its 20th anniversary this year, every episode is now available to watch on the BBC iPlayer. It means a new generation of children will be able to watch all 256 episodes which were produced by the BBC between 2002 and 2005, and based on a fictional small island community off the west coast called Balamory, or to you and I, Tobermory on the Scottish Isle of Mull.Get the latest celebrity gossip and telly news sent straight to your inbox sign up to our daily Showbiz newsletter here.
