Hit BBC series The Travelling Auctioneers has been in Dumfries filming for its new series.The Dumfries and Galloway auction was held at Thomson Roddick Callan Dumfries, at The Auction Centre, Irongray Road Industrial Estate, with bids made in person by the public or online.The Travelling Auctioneers is a BBC One series that follows auctioneers Christina Trevanion and Izzie Balmer, along with restoration expert Robin Johnson and JJ Chalmers as they find hidden treasures.The show combines the action of the auction house with the craftsmanship of restoration in real time taking their travelling auction house and workshop out on the road across the UK.Under the hammer at Dumfries auction was a variety of treasures, including iconic Hornby 00 gauge collections, and also a circ 1964 autographed “Love from The Beatles” piece, signed by each member of the legendary band in blue ballpoint pen.For those with a passion for fine jewellery, there was also a massive selection of stunning silver, gold, brooches, rings and costume pieces.One of the auction’s standout items for sale was a vast diecast car collection, which included rare AR models by Franklin Mint, Precision Models, made in Hong Kong, and featuring iconic cars like the 1929 Rolls-Royce Phantom I, the 1930 Bugatti Royal Napoleon, and the 1938 Jaguar SS-100 – all elegantly displayed in bespoke cases.Also auctioned was a Royal Doulton figures, some of which are highly sought after by collectors around the world.

Alongside these, was a selection of restored antiques, beautifully brought back to life by JJ Chalmers, including a fruitwood spinning wheel in the 17th-century style from Sherborne Castle, a Victorian pine farmhouse table and a rare WWII fire patrol helmet.How much
