The man, 27, came off an off-road e-bike in Shuttle Street, Tyldesley, last Sunday (June 6). Just days earlier, Wigan police had fired a warning against riding off-road bikes on the borough's streets.

The IOPC is now investigating the incident, as two officers were in pursuit at the time of the crash. An IOPC spokesman claimed that the officers were on patrol when they came across five people on e-bikes, who all made off in different directions.
