We now finally have a date to look forward to with the rematch between Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk now having been confirmed to be taking place in August with Saudi Arabia as the venue for the mammoth heavyweight clash. 'AJ' lost his WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles in the original clash which took place in September 2021 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
This was before Usyk, the unbeaten former cruiserweight, returned to his home country of Ukraine to assist with the ongoing war effort following the Russian invasion.
Meanwhile, Joshua has a new trainer in the form of Robert Garcia as he bids to regain his heavyweight titles which were lost last year.
The fight has now been confirmed to be taking place after promoter Eddie Hearn had hinted at the date and venue, but now an official announcement has taken place.
