Eddie Murphy

Edward Regan Murphy (born April 3, 1961) is an American actor, comedian, and singer.

Murphy was a regular cast member on Saturday Night Live from 1980 to 1984. He has worked as a stand-up comedian and was ranked No. 10 on Comedy Central's list of the 100 Greatest Stand-ups of All Time.

In films, Murphy has received Golden Globe Award nominations for his performances in 48 Hrs., the Beverly Hills Cop series, Trading Places, The Nutty Professor, and Dolemite Is My Name. In 2007, he won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor and received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of soul singer James "Thunder" Early in Dreamgirls.

Anthony Anderson to Host Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild Awards

Black-ish star Anthony Anderson is set to host the eighth annual Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild Awards on April 3. The awards show honors makeup artists and hair stylists in film, TV, commercials and live theater categories and will be held this year virtually amid the pandemic.

Anderson is also hosting his sixth season of the ABC game show To Tell the Truthwhile also producing Grown-ish for Freeform and Mixed-ish for ABC and executive producing Road Trippin for SnapChat.

The reimagined awards gala is co-produced by IngleDodd Media and Honeysweet Creative. As previously announced, Eddie Murphy will be honored with the Distinguished Artisan Award, presented by Arsenio Hall, his co-star on Coming 2 America.
