Annan boss Peter Murphy is praying for a thaw in the weather ahead of tomorrow’s rearranged home clash with Bonnyrigg Rose.

The original League Two tussle was postponed before Christmas due to a frozen pitch. And Murphy fears the same fate for tomorrow’s collision due to the winter weather which struck earlier this week.

He said: “There is an area of the pitch at Galabank that doesn’t get the sunshine to thaw it out. “We cannot put salt or grit down on it because it damages the surface so the groundsman is working to try and clear the area, but the forecast is not too good.” Murphy said of the fixture: “Bonnyrigg are a tough outfit and have a lot of experienced players from the lower leagues in their squad who know what it is all about. “As I have said before this is a very tight league and although we are two points off the play-off places, we are three points off the danger zone.

It is unbelievable and any team is capable of beating anyone.” Meanwhile, the Galabankies go into the game with two major injury doubts following their 1-1 draw at Elgin City last weekend.
