Ange Postecoglou would have no interest in replacing Jesse Marsch at Leeds United because of the draw of Champions League football next season – and the prospect of hefty compensation would scare the Yorkshire side off making a bid for him anyway.
That it is the view of talkSPORT chief football report Alex Crook who was quizzed by Ally McCoist on the breakfast radio show on the possibility of Postecoglou being on the Elland Road club’s radar following the dismissal of their American boss.
Crook says Postecoglou – who has ex-Leeds United man Harry Kewell on his coaching staff – has been attracting interest from clubs around the lower reaches of the English Premier League this season.
While discussing the next move for Leeds, McCoist asked: “Would big Ange Postecoglou come into Leeds thoughts because he’s doing very well up at at Celtic and must be attracting a bit of interest?”Crook said: “He’s certainly attracted interest from clubs in and around Leeds down at the bottom of the table this season and the vibe I’m getting is that he doesn’t want to leave Celtic.
