Sir Andy Murray left Rutherglen Tennis Club youngsters starstruck today after the three-time Grand Slam champion made a surprise visit to their 'Mini Murray' Fun Day.Budding tennis stars were practicing their skills and taking part in a series of fun-filled activities at their local club when Murray, who is in Glasgow competing for Great Britain in the David Cup this weekend, swung by to join in the fun and pose for pictures with players and coaches. The Mini-Murray Day was being run in conjunction with Andy's mum Judy and had been due to take place last weekend, before being postponed as a mark of respect following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.The event had been organised to celebrate the return of the Davis Cup to Glasgow, where Great Britain have been competing in Group D of the Davis Cup at Glasgow’s Emirates Arena against the United States, Netherlands and Kazakhstan.Several games and activities for people of all ages and abilities, including a ‘Battle of the Brits’ skills challenge, took place and there was a fantastic turnout from players and their families, who all had an unexpected surprise early on in the afternoon.Follow Lanarkshire Live Sport onTwitter via@LanLiveSport, like us onFacebookor find us onInstagramfor the latest sports news, pictures and video.
