Love Island's Amy Hart has revealed that her dad once "triggered a massive security alert" after "blagging his way" up to the Queen and "shaking her hand".
The pregnant 30 year old media personality took to Twitter to share the funny anecdote hours before it was announced that the 96 year old monarch had passed away "peacefully" at Balmoral.
She wrote: “My Dad went to Royal Ascot in the early 90s, managed to blag his way up to the Queen and shook her hand triggering a massive security alert. “Dad was then in all the national papers (we have a huge photo board at home with all the cuttings that someone did for his 40th) he then wrote a letter to her to say it was lovely meeting her & to apologise for any embarrassment caused to her. "And her private secretary sent one back from the Royal Yacht Britannia saying the Queen hoped that our family hadn’t had too much hassle and it was lovely meeting him too!” Panic grew around the world yesterday (8 September) as Buckingham Palace released an unprecedented statement announcing that the Queen was under "medical supervision" at Balmoral.
The closest members of her family, including King Charles, as he is now known, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward, Princess Anne and grandsons Prince William and Prince Harry, rushed to Balmoral to be with her.
