Strictly Come Dancing professional Amy Dowden has shared an emotional message after being diagnosed with breast cancer. The dancer, 32, posted a throwback picture to her Instagram stories showing her performing on the hit BBC celebrity talent show as she discussed her hopes of getting back on the dancefloor.

She wrote: “This feeling performing is like no other! The emotion, excitement, adrenalin and I can't wait for it for it again.

It feeds my souls! “Thank u for every single comment and message today! It means so much to me and my incredible family I'm so lucky to be surrounded by!

Thank you [sic].” The throwback image she shared - of her performing alongside child dancers Luca Ivanets and Pebble-Rose Spratt during last year's Blackpool Week - held extra poignancy because of its original caption.
