All traces of former This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield are being removed from ITV, claims a show insider. It comes after the 61-year-old resigned from the broadcaster after confessing to an "unwise but not illegal" affair with a young colleague.

Revealing the affair, Phillip admitted that he had not only lied to his employer - ITV, but also to his colleagues, friends, and his agents at his management firm, YMU, who subsequently also dropped him.

And now This Morning editor Martin Frizell has reportedly begun removing all traces of the veteran TV presenter, so it will be like "he never existed." An inside source told The Sun: "All traces of Phil and his career are being stripped out of the This Morning studios and from ITV’s base in White City." Martin had kept the pictures of Phillip up out of respect for the presenter, who had presented This Morning for 21 years before his sudden departure, but he now reportedly wants them "gone" following the affair revelation.

Following Phillip's resignation from ITV, and news of the affair, the Mail On Sunday reported that the young colleague was just 15 when he first met the veteran TV broadcaster. The publication reported the pair first met when Phillip was giving a talk at a theatre school when the TV presenter was in his late 40s.
