Alison Hammond excitedly recalled meeting the Prince and Princess of Wales on Friday's episode of This Morning. Prince William, 40, and Kate Middleton, 41, enjoyed a fun-filled day together in Birmingham on Thursday to celebrate its diverse culture by meeting future leaders in the arts and creative industries.

During their visit, Alison, 48, met William and Kate as the royal couple attended an event at The Rectory - a dynamic venue overlooking the city’s historic Jewellery Quarter.Telling viewers at home and co-star Dermot O'Leary about her royal encounter on Thursday, Alison revealed she had invited the duo over for dinner as they bonded over cocktails, food and football.

Looking at a candid photo that had been taken of her and the Princess of Wales, Alison said: "I mean it looks like I’m just laughing randomly there but she’s talking to all of us and having a conversation, we were talking about cocktails. "She was saying that she likes spicy cocktails, she doesn’t like the sweet cocktails or anything like that." To which Dermot asked Alison if the Princess of Wales "likes Baileys, like you", to which Alison revealed: "We didn’t talk about Baileys, it was all about cocktails, so she likes a spicy cocktail. "She likes spicy food… so I invited her over to my house, I said 'next time you’re in Birmingham, come over to my house.

I’ll cook for you'." With Dermot pointing out: "To be fair, she’d get a good dinner at your house!" To which Alison added: "She’d get a lovely dinner, she was like 'I’ll definitely come' and I was like 'really?!'.
