Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary have ignored Eamonn Holmes claims of a “total cover up” at ITV over Phillip Schofield's affair with a younger colleague, as they presented today's This Morning. The presenting duo kicked off Tuesday's show as they shared what was to come in the episode, noticeably ignoring Eamonn's bombshell claims as they covered current affairs.

Both ITV and Phillip Schofield have said that the presenter lied to the broadcaster about his relationship with the younger colleague, but Eamonn has rubbished these claims during an interview on rival channel GB News on Monday night.

As presenter Dan Wootton asked: "Isn't it a cover-up?" Eamonn replied: "It's a total cover-up.Those in authority had to know what was going on and they thought they would dodge a bullet with this, and they do constantly. "With Schofield talking about 'those who speak out against him' namely me, Amanda Holden, [Dan Wootton], you'll be included in the toxicity, Dr Ranj...

you simply think, 'No mate, you've had it all your way for far too long.'" Eamonn further alleged that ITV bosses must have known about the affair and may have even organised taxis that ferried the young man back and forth from Phillip's house. The GB News star even said that Phillip and his lover would have “playtime” on Thursdays when they “hit the town” and “stay overnight” together. “There were records to show that he was brought in next day separately in cars paid for by ITV,” Eamonn alleged, before adding that he believes they “would have seen that and known.” Phillip admitted to the affair in the days following his stepping down from presenting This Morning, and has since been removed from all ITV shows and dropped by his talent agency YMU.
