Alexander Emmanuel Rodriguez (born July 27, 1975), nicknamed "A-Rod", is an American former professional baseball shortstop and third baseman who played 22 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB).
He played seven seasons with Seattle Mariners, three seasons with the Texas Rangers and twelve seasons with the New York Yankees. Rodriguez began his professional career as one of the sport's most highly touted prospects, and is considered to be one of the greatest baseball players of all time.

Keep reading to find out more… After being complimented on his smile, Alex noted that “looks can be deceiving.” “I just recently went to see my dentist and not thinking anything about any gum disease,” Alex shared. “And the dentist tells me the news, and then I come to find out over 65 million Americans have this gum disease.” According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 46% of adults 30 or older show signs of gum disease, which is the leading cause of tooth loss.
The diagnosis has inspired Alex to join forces with OraPharma to raise awareness about dental wellness. Alex also emphasized the importance of proactive dental hygiene for all Americans, adding that dental issues are more “prevalent in our Black and Brown communities, especially my Latino community.” Late last year, Alex reacted to ex-fiancee Jennifer Lopez‘s marriage to Ben Affleck.
