92-year-old waited nearly 21 hours for an ambulance after fracturing hip in kitchen fall

A 92-year-old man had to wait more than 20 hours for an ambulance to treat his crippling pain, after breaking his hip following a fall in his kitchen.

The shocking length of time it took for first responders to attend to Thomas Miles has left his family worried about any future call outs.

Thomas was left with a severe fracture on his hip after falling at about 1pm on Monday October 18. However, after a family member rang 999 for an ambulance they waited until 10am the following day before paramedics arrived on the scene.Mr Miles’ family were reduced to tears as they were told not to move him and had to endure a very ‘distressing’ 21 hours.
